Todays harvest

The fruits of my labour are starting to pay off.


We have spinach,celery,cauliflower,broccolii,snow peas, strawberries, rocket,coriander,basil,chammomile and eggs.



Soapy business

I've been busy creating which is what I love to do best. What do you think? Would you buy this.

This soap is made from the fresh milk I got from the dairy, honey, poppy seed and ground liquorice root.
I hope to have a market stall at one of the bigger markets here in December-hence the christmas packaging.

Yesterday I spent the entire day learning about bees, basic bee keeping , honey and honey extraction. Fascinating stuff. Everybody should have a bee box just for pollination purposes. So I've come home armed with all the equipment. All I need now is the bees. Did you know you can mail order bees!

here the promised update

We have moved a step closer to being in a modern world. After 10 months of bucket flushing the loo we now have a button to press. How exciting. However we still save the bucket water from the shower to flush with as a means of water saving.

Sorry it's been a while

Yes I know I have not kept you informed of the goings on down here on "the farm".
Actually there hasn't really been that much to report. The camera batteries are dead and I keep forgetting to buy new ones but I while tomorrow. (will someone remind me please.)
There has been no progress on the house. We found a really good carpenter and cheap too but getting him to turn up well that's another story. Yesterday he came by, did a lap of the drive way and promptly drove off .Don't know what that was about.
Once I take some photos I'll get them up as soon as possible. I know how boring a blog is without photos.
I'll be back soon.
