Scary, Scary

Some of you may have heard about the wall collapse at the old CUB site on Swanston st. Melbourne. 3 people died in this tragedy, a brother and a sister and another woman. People were also injured. This site is right next to us. This is the route our boys walk to school everyday. Everyday, twice a day we pass this wall. On that fateful day the wall collapsed around 3pm. On that day, the last day of term school finished early at 2.30pm. That meant our boys would have been quite possibly under that wall as they walked home from school. But as luck, fate, whatever you want to call it we decided to travel to Pambula that day and consequently they did not walk home at the time of the wall collapse. I can't believe it. I try not to dwell on it. I thank my lucky stars. My heart goes out to the family that lost 2 children as it could have quite easily been my boys.

If you watch the video our building is behind the big silver looking building. We can see this site from our apartment. We haven't walked past the site since we have been home, when school goes back we will once again walk past in grateful silence. On a brighter note we have just come back from a thriller win to Geelong against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
